Just wanted to let you know that I have started my MBA at Oxford and loving every bit of it. It was an amazing experience to be associated with you, I got to learn so much from our interactions. It would not have been possible for me to reach this place without your guidance.I feel that thank you is too small a word to be used in this context.

I literally just received my acceptance letter from NYU to their EMBA program and you are the first person that I am telling.Thank you so much for your guidance throughout this process. You were instrumental in creating the cohesive story for my application. Everything from essays and letters of recommendation to highlighting strengths and negating weaknesses was spot on. You took what seemed to be a daunting process and helped make it manageable. Working with you was truly a pleasure.

I’m in at Wharton! I honestly can’t believe that this actually happened — Right now I almost don’t know what to think, but it will sink in over the next few days. I wanted to reiterate how much you impacted my successful application. Your support, from detailed editing to helping me find my story, was critical to getting into Wharton.

Thank you very much for editing the essays and for sending them earlier than promised. I know the first essay had a lot of grammatical mistakes and it was very diffused and the second essay was unclear, but you did a fabulous job. The first essay – you made it sacred for me. You have provided immense help and I have no words to thank you for this. One complaint that I always had was I could not find help when I needed it. You have shut the doors for such complaints in the future.

I cannot thank SBC enough for the guidance and direction that was provided during the MBA admissions process. First I was coming from a military background that I wasn’t sure how to translate into something that an admissions committee would find attractive. Furthermore, I was applying in round 3 to only one school and had little margin for error in putting together my admissions packet. My consultant was always there with any questions that I had and always got back to me quickly. Her help with the essays and resume were instrumental. I was accepted and received a $40K scholarship! This definitely would not have been possible without the help of SBC and I could not recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for an admissions consultant. Thanks!

SBC has been an excellent resource during this stressful and trying time. My consultant has been able to meet deadlines effectively through hard work and long hours. She provided me with excellent advice for all aspects of my application, including but not limited to: essays, references, short answers, general application essays, resume building, and interviewing advice. One area that she went above and beyond was resume building. She was able to put a decade worth of resume information into one concise, impressive resume. Another area that she did exceptional work in was interview prep. The most appreciated aspect of our relationship was her friendly attitude combined with calming reassurance. I was able to get in contact with my consultant easily and this helped me gain a solid sense of trust. I would recommend SBC to anyone interested in applying to top business schools worldwide.

I just want to say thank you. You have been great through this whole process and I have not once regretted the cost of SBC. My brother is thinking about applying to business school in a few years and my family has already decided SBC is totally worth it!

I want to take the time to thank my consultant for her hard work. Though I was very late in the MBA application process and was in a rush to submit my applications to meet the deadlines, she worked late nights and through weekends to provide helpful feedback on my essays and applications in a timely manner so that I could submit my application on time. She never failed to provide feedback and was always available by email or phone throughout the night, sometimes even into midnight. I especially liked her attention to detail when providing feedback regarding my essays. She seemed to pay special attention to every word to ensure that the application was of the highest quality. I would highly recommend SBC to other potential MBA candidates without qualification.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance throughout my MBA application process. Your expertise really made the difference in my school selection and your point of view and guidance made a great impact on my essays and interviews. With your help I was able to get into my top choice program and I am thrilled to be starting in the fall. You were a tremendous resource and I really can't thank you enough. Stacy Blackman is fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented member on their staff. Thanks again for everything.

I really enjoyed my experience working with SBC. My consultant has been awesome through emails and in our phone conversations. All of my interactions with representatives of SBC have been top notch and enjoyable. I will definitely be recommending SBC to all of my friends that will be applying in the near future.

I'm so thankful that I chose to work with the SBC team, and particularly Amy Hazen, my consultant. The MBA admissions process is grueling, and I knew that I needed a partner who would guide me through the journey with patience, understanding, and expertise. The SBC team works together to create a holistic experience. Bill took the time to understand my goals before pairing me with a consultant. Amy spent countless hours with me understanding what made me tick and helping me translate that into an application. Beth flight tested my application and made sure that there weren't any glaring holes, and Anthony helped me prep for my Wharton Team Based Discussion.By far the most valuable part of this process was having Amy by my side. No question was too trivial for her, and she had limitless patience with me as I obsessed over every detail of my application. Amy's most valuable contribution, however, was her ability to help me focus on the RIGHT details. It is easy to lose sight of what you are building as you write the applications from the ground up, and it can be particularly challenging not to write applications based on what you THINK the AdComms WANT to hear. Amy encouraged me to embrace my authentic voice, and ensured that I was telling a story that highlighted who I am as a human. Thanks to Amy and the SBC team I was admitted to FIVE MBA programs: GSB, Wharton, Booth, Columbia, and Stern (with a full ride).

Deanna with Stacy Blackman Consulting was an incredibly valuable resource to me as I navigated the MBA admissions process. My background is in public arts education and Deanna helped me frame my nontraditional background as an asset rather than a concern. Deanna was easy to reach and was a clear communicator. She took an interest in me as a person, which enriched our working relationship and helped her give me very specific, helpful feedback. With her guidance I was able to obtain a T20 MBA Admit with scholarship! While Deanna was my primary consultant, the biggest benefit of SBC was the depth of their team and the breadth of their experience. This depth and breadth are what set them apart from other consulting firms that I looked at. From my initial discussion with Sarah, to my flight test with Lisa, a former AdComm member, I felt I was being guided by people who could give me targeted advice based on their lived experiences with MBA admissions. If you are serious about getting admitted into the top programs, it is well worth the investment to seek out their expertise!

I had a wonderful experience with SBC. As other yelpers have mentioned, the process starts with a kick off call with one of the principals, who then suggests several consultants based off of the initial conversation. My first call was with Sarah, who did a great job matching me to Lisa as my primary consultant.Lisa was WONDERFUL to work with! She broke down the process and setup a timeline. Lisa was extremely responsive to any question I had and always returned drafts to me in under 24 hours. She also always had something encouraging to say regarding everything from a sub-par GMAT attempt to eventually selecting an offer. With the help of Lisa and my flight tester Caryn, I received offers from the three top programs I applied to and was awarded significant scholarships to two. Lisa believed in me, and helped me to put forth my best application. I would highly recommend her, and the SBC process, to anyone looking to work with a consultant!

I worked with Yvette from the beginning on my applications. She made me feel comfortable with my own story, she guided me to write better essays while being honest with myself. But she also went above and beyond. She advised me on which schools could be a better fit given my personality.Applying to business schools is no easy task. Yvette helped me organize my applications from the beginning. She made my life easier during this stressful process. Her feedback was on point, and very honest. My narrative was compelling, but not clearly articulated. She helped me improve the way I presented my story. This feedback was customized for each school I was applying to. And she has an amazing knowledge on what top schools want.We also worked together on my interview preparations. Which is not my strength. She knew right away I was doing things common for non native speakers. And we worked together on improving the structure of my answers based on this. I was able to get into 2 schools, 1 full ride, 1 scholarship. And I am also currently waitlisted in other 2 top schools.

I had an absolutely amazing experience working with Kim and the rest of the SBC team. Kim took the time to get to know me, my aspirations, my story and built a structure within which I felt comfortable submitting my application. She gave me the confidence to apply to my dream school Kellogg, where I was accepted with a generous scholarship. Her wide breadth of knowledge was abundantly clear in how she helped me find the right programs for myself, supported me as I drafted my essays, prepared for my interviews, and even as I made the hard decision of selecting where I would finally go. She was always easy to reach and responsive, and gave thoughtful feedback on my essays in a matter of hours.I am truly grateful for Kim and I believe my investment in SBC was worth every penny. I selected the All-In package for 4 schools, and ended up paying for an hourly package to apply to a 5th school. Thank you to Kim and Esther, for the guidance and support!!

With Deanna's guidance, I had someone who is both knowledgeable of the MBA application process and attentive on my side helping me stay on track and focus on what's important. Deanna was my primary partner and I'm happy to report that I was admitted at my top choice, Duke. She responded quickly to my questions and provided thoughtful feedback. She also made suggestions, such as taking the executive assessment and taking a math class that helped shape my application in the best possible way.Overall, I had a positive experience with SBC. In addition to her guidance, there was team based influence and support throughout the process with Esther as my initial contact at SBC and my flight tester, Caryn, who is a former admissions officer.I had initial consultations with two other companies- Veritas Prep and MBAmission. I ultimately moved forward with SBC because they made me feel positive about my candidacy and that getting into my dream school, Duke was possible. From the first contact to my admit day, Deanna was really invested in my success and I would highly recommend her to a friend.

I reached out to Esther only a few months before Round 1 applications. Despite being initially skeptical, I am SO HAPPY that I ultimately decided to go for it.Dione was able to quickly understand my background, my story, and my future goals in order to help me craft a compelling application. She was incredible to brainstorm with and was always available to run through ideas or to answer my (many) questions. She helped me edit all of my essays up until I felt they were truly exceptional, and she was fantastic at keeping these concise, to the point, but still genuine and authentic. I was truly impressed with her work and extremely confident with my applications. Before deciding to go forward with SBC, I had initial talks with numerous other consulting firms. SBC stood out because of the matchmaking process, the entire team's efforts toward your final application (through their helpful flight test), and their resources. I received interviews at 5 of the 6 schools I had applied for, and the SBC interview resources helped tremendously with my interview preparation. In addition, I'd like to add that the team at SBC was genuinely so kind and it really felt like they were on my side in this process. I had lots of ups and downs while applying (personally and professionally!) and Dione and the team continued to be there to cheer me on and push me forward. I ultimately got accepted to my dream school and cannot recommend Dione and SBC enough!

SBC was so helpful with my free consultation. I have already spoken with at least 5 other companies (IvyGroupe, MBA Exchange etc..) and felt that I was simply being told what I wanted to hear and up sold to get a larger package. Bill and Esther were honest about my MBA candidacy and gave me advice on how to improve my application over the long haul to get into the best possible program (what I assume we all want), which requires applying later than I was expecting. I'm still working with them and have not yet been admitted so I will update this post in the future but I was so impressed with my consultation I felt compelled to write a review immediately.

I cannot speak more highly of working with Stacy Blackman Consulting, particularly Meg and Sarah. I first decided to work with an MBA consultant because I felt like there were so many directions I could take my application, but I didn't have the time to spend hours on google trying to find the correct approach. I specifically chose to work with SBC compared to other consultants I interviewed for two reasons: 1. The team's collaborative working style and breadth and depth of experience working on Ad Comms at top programs gave me the confidence that they knew what they were talking about across all programs and 2. They told me WHY I needed to do certain things so I was brought into the progress and truly felt like I earned my acceptances. I am delighted that I was accepted to Kellogg, Tuck with an 80% tuition scholarship and Fuqua with a 100% tuition scholarship. Working with this team was absolutely worth the investment!

I am so exceptionally grateful to have had the experience this spring working with Caryn! I was originally planning to submit Fall 2021 R1, but with her encouragement was able to conquer the application process, remote testing, and other inbound hurdles that came with this year's extended rounds for the Fall 2020 incoming class.I was a very non-traditional candidate with a unique set of experiences and skill sets that I wanted to clearly convey in my application. With her consulting expertise, I was admitted to my first-choice school, Fuqua, with a large scholarship. I was also admitted to my 2nd and 3rd choice schools as well.I highly recommend Caryn for anyone curious about the MBA application process and looking to target top schools. She is a rockstar!
